Your smile says a lot about you. Cracked, chipped, spaced, or discolored teeth can make you appear unhealthy and affect people’s impression of you. At-home remedies can only do so much. For a truly transformative dental makeover, veneers are your best option.

Whether age, genetics, or life has impacted your teeth Dr Derla can fix them!

What are Veneers?

Veneers are a cosmetic solution to chipped teeth, discolored teeth, misshapen teeth, and gap teeth. Veneers are thin coverings that adhere to the front of teeth and improve their appearance. Veneers are customized to the shape of your mouth and teeth. Dr Derla achieves natural-appearing results that will let you leave her office with a dazzling and beautiful smile! Veneers can be made with two different materials – composite and porcelain.

Composite Veneers

Made of resin material, composite veneers are sculpted and shaped to mimic your natural teeth. Dr Derla will make sure the veneers are created with improvements in mind so that you can have your best smile.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are often the first choice for improving the appearance of teeth because the porcelain interacts with light similarly to the enamel of the teeth. Enamel is the exterior of the tooth and acts as a shell to keep the interior tooth safe from bacteria. Porcelain veneers best represent real teeth and are a long-lasting solution.

Dr Derla will discuss these options with you in a personal consultation and help you determine your best options.

Getting Veneers with Dr Derla

Dr Derla is a well-experienced, successful cosmetic dentist. She is well-known for the impressive, bright, perfect smiles she provides for her patients. Dr Derla has an eye for improving teeth and provides her patients with transformed smiles. You are in the best of hands with Dr Derla.

Benefits

Veneers are strong and will last you years! They have such a natural appearance that people will notice a difference in your smile but not quite know how you got such incredible results.

Another aspect we love about veneers is that they don’t stain easily. You will need to maintain healthy oral care but can enjoy a glass of wine or darkly pigmented foods without concern about staining your teeth.

A beneficial aspect of veneers is they do not require much enamel to be removed during placement. With a crown or cap, a lot of the tooth, if not most of it, needs to be removed. With veneers, just enough enamel is removed so that your smile appears natural.

Candidates

Veneers are perfect for people looking to dramatically improve their smile.

No matter your age, veneers will help your smile appear brighter, even and healthy. If you are bothered by the shape, color or placement of your teeth it is time to consider veneers!

Veneers are not a good option for individuals with pre-existing oral conditions such as tooth decay or gum disease. A consultation that includes an analysis of the teeth will help Dr Derla determine if your teeth are healthy enough for veneers.

Consult with Rome’s Top Smile Specialist

During your personal meeting with Dr Derla, your teeth will be examined and she will inform you about the steps of veneer treatment. She will take the time to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have. This meeting will include a cost breakdown and information regarding how veneers will keep your smile perfect for years to come!

Preparation

Veneers require two appointments. Together, Dr Derla and you will plan out appropriate appointment times that work with your schedule. You can prepare for these appointments by cleaning your teeth beforehand to remove any food or debris. Dr Derla will inform you of any other steps you can take to ensure your best treatment. If you have any questions please give our office a call.

Procedure

Local anesthetic can be used to ensure you are comfortable and pain-free.

In the first step of the process, about a half a millimeter of enamel will be removed from the surface of your teeth. A mold will then be taken of your teeth. This impression will be used to create perfectly customized veneers. The impression is then processed. Fabrication of the veneers will often take about two to four weeks. Temporary veneers may be used to keep your smile looking great in the weeks leading up to your second appointment.

The veneers can be altered to ensure the optimal outcome is achieved.

In the second step, Dr Derla will ensure that each veneer fits your teeth precisely and looks appropriate to your smile. The teeth will then be cleaned, polished and etched. Etching the teeth will create a rough surface, allowing the veneer to bond strongly to the teeth. The veneer will be bonded with a strong form of cement. A special light is then used to cure the cement and secure the veneer quickly in your mouth. Once the veneers are all attached and bonded, excess cement will be removed and your bite will be evaluated.

Final adjustments will be applied and Dr Derla and you will schedule a follow-up appointment.

Recovery

Your teeth may be sensitive to hot and cold temperatures for a period of time. If you experience any discomfort, over-the-counter pain medications are available. It may take you a couple of days to adjust to the veneers but it won’t take you any time to show off your results.

Results

You will notice your outcome as soon as the second step of the veneer process is complete. These results will be picture-perfect and ready to show off right away! Veneers are long-lasting solutions to imperfect teeth. If you are interested in learning more about veneers and how they are helping people of all ages achieve a brilliant smile, schedule a consultation with Dr Derla.

Cost

A veneer treatment will be priced differently for each patient based on the number of teeth being improved and material being used. Dr Derla and you will discuss your options and prices in your personal consultation. Give our office a call today to learn more about veneers.

Yes. Veneers are a long-lasting cosmetic treatment used to truly transform the smile.

How much do veneers cost?

The cost of veneers varies between patients because all veneer treatments are highly customized to each patient. Veneers can be used to improve just one tooth or can be used on every tooth to provide comprehensive improvement. The material used to make the veneers will also impact the total price. Dr Derla and you will discuss costs in your private meeting with her.

Veneers will help not just help your smile look amazing, they will also help your whole appearance beam.

How do veneers work?

Veneers are a thin shell of either composite or porcelain material that is adhered to the front of the teeth. Veneers are applied in two steps. The first step requires a very thin layer of enamel to be removed. A mold of the teeth will be taken and from this mold, the veneers will be shaped. There will be at least two weeks in between appointments while the custom veneers are fabricated. The second appointment is where the veneers are applied to your mouth with a cement adhesive. A specialized curing light will be used during the treatment to set the veneers in your mouth. The result will be smooth, white, naturally-shaped teeth.

Veneers are often used to improve the appearance of broken, chipped, gapped, small, discolored and crooked teeth. When veneers are applied by a talented and experienced cosmetic dentist like Dr Derla they produce significant results.

How much does a full set of veneers cost?

The cost of a full set of veneers will be discussed during your consultation with Dr Derla. A consultation will not only answer your questions about costs but will inform you of how to prepare for the treatment. A consultation is your first step to a brilliant smile.

Do veneers hurt?

Veneers should not hurt. An anesthetic may be used during the process to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed. After treatment, your teeth may be more sensitive to hot and cold temperatures but over-the-counter medications can be used to control discomfort.

Can veneers be whitened?

No. Veneers are a permanent treatment that cannot be lightened. Fortunately, veneers are pretty resistant to staining as well. Patients can enjoy a glass of red wine without worrying about stains. Of course, you should still keep up healthy oral care to maintain your best results. Brush twice a day and make sure to floss and use mouthwash every day as well. Bi-annual dentist check-ups will keep your teeth and gums healthy so that you can have a dazzling smile for years to come!
