    Subcutaneous Fat

    Abdomen VASER Liposuction London

Through diet and exercise alone, fat around the abdomen may be the last area to go – if at all. That’s because fat around the abdomen is a special type of fat that’s different from fat in places such as the face. Called subcutaneous fat, fat around the abdomen is extremely difficult to lose when only diet and exercise are explored. This is because the body deploys this fat differently. This fat is used by the body to protect vital organs, prevent heat loss, and act as a protective cushion against physical external stress.[1] But if left idle for too long, this fat not only affects your self-image and self-confidence but also your health entirely. Recent studies show that subcutaneous fat around the abdominals is a primary risk factor for insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.[2] While for many people who begin a weight loss journey, a clear-cut six-pack  abs is a staple to their dream physique. Well, for some, whether it be age, genetics, or resources available, the subcutaneous fat proves too stubborn to shed through exercise and diet alone.

For many patients who come to see Dr Frati, they report similar stories about starting a weight loss journey only to have their progress get hampered by subcutaneous fat around the abdomen. Lucky for his patients; Dr Frati is just the doctor for the job.

    Benefits

    Quicker Recovery

When compared to traditional liposuction, VASER liposuction is seen to be a more measured, precise, and gentler method.[3] This is because when the ultrasound waves are used on the fat tissue, it only affects the fat tissue and leaves the neighbouring tissue (nerves, blood vessels, and skin) unaltered. In traditional liposuction, the connective tissue has a higher chance of being destroyed which results in more moderate to severe bruising. This safe, effective approach results in Dr Frati’s patients experiencing less downtime than patients of traditional liposuction.

    Better Results

By using ultrasound technology, Dr Frati is able to retrieve fat from deep tissue layers as well as superficial layers. This means he can control where the cannula goes with more precision and accuracy. This is what helps patients achieve an instant six-pack right after the procedure. With the VASER technology, Dr Frati can zero in on the channels between each abdominal muscle and create a sculpted set of washboard abs instantly. Also, because the VASER technology targets deep layer and superficial layers of fat he is able to remove more fat than through traditional liposuction.[4]

    Candidates

The best candidate for a VASER liposuction procedure is a non-smoker who is at a healthy, stable BMI weight and is able to undergo the necessary requirements for surgery and recovery. It is vital to note that VASER liposuction is not a weight loss procedure but rather a body contouring procedure.

If you would like to know if you qualify for VASER, then please feel free to schedule a personal consultation on Harley Street today!

    Personal Consultation

From the onset of his career in plastic surgery, Dr Ricardo Frati has committed himself to his patient’s ultimate safety and satisfaction. When you come to your personal consultation on Harley Street you will experience just that. As a leader in the VASER method, Dr Frati is a wealth of knowledge and an expert resource for this procedure. First, he will begin by going over your current health conditions, determining whether or not you are a prime candidate for a VASER liposuction procedure. Then, he will want to hear your preferred results; what your desired results appear like and how his services can best tailor those results. Once he has gone over what a VASER procedure entails, he will inspect your abdomen. Next, if you are deemed a prime candidate for VASER, we will schedule a time and date for your procedure. It is important to follow the list of preparatory steps in the interim to ensure a proper procedure and optimal recovery.

    Preparation

Before your VASER liposuction procedure, it is important to follow any individualised instructions that Dr Frati might have given you. It is also important not to drink alcohol or take any blood thinning medications a few days prior to your procedure. Also it is important to:

    • Get your home ready for your recovery
    • Schedule a ride home
    • Stop smoking for two weeks before and one month after your liposuction procedure
    • Come to your appointment in loose-fitting clothing

It is important to follow any and all instructions given to you during your consultation. If you have any questions about preparing please do not hesitate to call us at +44 20 3633 2619.

    Procedure

After the anesthesia has taken effect, Dr Frati will use tumescent fluid on the abdomen to constrict the blood vessels and cause the fat to puff-up – making it an easier target when liposuctioning. Next, the VASER technology will release ultrasound waves on the area, breaking up the fat deposits and dislodging them from the connective tissue. Then, Dr Frati will expertly extract the dislocated fat from the body. Once the procedure ceases, he will suture the incision sites and you will be ready to begin recovery.

    Recovery

    vaser liposuction london

For the first two weeks it is normal to experience differing degrees of soreness, bruising, and swelling around your midsection. During this time, we ask that you wear the compression garment we gave you. This will help curb the swelling and shape the treated areas. It is important to wear this at all times and only to be removed for showering. The beauty of VASER is the less downtime required. You can return to your job within the next week, however if your job consists of strenuous activities you may need to wait the full week until you return. Most of our patients report feeling fully recovered 4-6 weeks after their procedure.

    Results

Right after your procedure, you will notice the indentions of your new six-pack. By using his cannula to exhume your abdominal muscles from subcutaneous fat, Dr Frati has been able to give you those washboard abs you’ve been dreaming of. To keep these results look as fabulous as they do now, it is important to continue proper dieting and exercising to keep new subcutaneous fat from forming.

    Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

    Bodytite

As VASER liposuction is a surgical procedure, you may feel that you aren’t necessarily ready to “go under the knife”. Well, Bodytite is a perfect, non-surgical solution to addressing unwanted pockets of fat. Bodytite uses RFAL (Radiofrequency Assisted Liposuction) to send out thermal energy that liquefies fat. The thermal energy also triggers a sudden influx of collagen production which in turn tightens the surrounding skin. It is the all-in-one fat reducing, skin tightening procedure!

    Breast Augmentation

After addressing their abdomen, many women can’t help but to continue to improve their figure. A breast augmentation is the perfect way to do just that! By adding a new contour look to your breasts, you can achieve a totally revamped look! Ask during your consultation just how a breast augmentation can be added to your customized, cosmetic plan!

    Cost in London

    FAQ

    What is VASER Lipo?

Standing for vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance, VASER liposuction is a body contouring procedure that sculpts away mild to moderate amounts of unwanted fat. The technology deploys ultrasound waves to break up the fat cell from their connective tissue making them easier to clear during liposuction.

What’s the difference between traditional liposuction and VASER liposuction?

Traditional liposuction is only able to remove the deep layer of fat and can destroy connective tissue in the process; this can lead to lengthy recovery times. While using ultrasound waves to break the fat apart, VASER liposuction is able to remove deep and superficial layers of fat while not destroying the connective tissue. This leads to a considerably quicker and less strenuous recovery period.
