Introducing: The Luxurious HydraFacial

HydraFacial is a skin rejuvenation device that uses vortex technology to cleanse and exfoliate the skin, clearing pores and improving the complexion. (1) This treatment uses exfoliation and suction to remove debris, oil, and dead skin cells to rejuvenate and clean a patient’s pores. HydraFacials are proven to improve the thickness of the skin and prompt a healthy-looking face. (1) The procedure is non-invasive and is typically performed in addition to serum application for a comprehensive overhaul of the skin.

Dr Riccardo Frati and his talented team at Harley Surgery perform safety-centric cosmetic procedures and treatments catered toward each individual patient. With great care, we offer the most advanced and modern skin rejuvenation treatments available, including HydraFacials. Schedule a private consultation with us today by calling our London, Manchester, or Birmingham offices at 020 3633 2619. You can also contact us online to get started.

What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacials are considered hydradermabrasion, or “wet dermabrasion.” It is an alternative to dermabrasion, a form of exfoliation that traditionally uses synthetic crystals. Instead of using the abrasive nature of crystals to clear out pores, hydradermabrasion utilises suction and gentle cleansing to improve the overall skin appearance. HydraFacials use a handpiece that steams the skin and suctions our debris to unclog pores, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin. (2) This process is typically combined with serums that contain ingredients such as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and other components to replenish nutrients in the skin after the thorough cleansing.

How Does Hydradermabrasion Work?

Hydradermabrasion uses a combination of oxygen and water-based solutions at supersonic speeds to dislodge debris and dead skin cells from the skin. These are then suctioned away, leaving the skin properly cleansed. The process works by both removing toxins and hydrating the skin in the same pass. HydraFacial’s tiny jets open the micro-canals in the outermost layers of skin, which are then rehydrated and revitalised using medical-grade serums. This is all done while minimising producing irritation, discomfort, and redness. (3)

When there are tiny channels in the skin, moisturising serums containing antioxidants and vitamins are better absorbed. A study observed that patients who received hydradermabrasion and serum together absorbed more antioxidants than those who were treated with serum alone. (3)

HydraFacial Boosters

There are a multitude of facial boosters (serums) for use during HydraFacial procedures. Each is expertly formulated to address certain skin types and patient concerns. They can be categorised into the following intentions:

  • Brightening
  • Calming
  • Clarifying
  • Hydrating
  • Eye
  • Lip
  • Firming & Restoring
  • Smoothing and Refining

These boosters contain numerous peptides, antioxidants, vitamins, beneficial acids, and plant extracts to naturally provide nutrients to the skin. We will customise treatment, choosing the right serum for each patient’s specific needs during their initial meeting at Harley Surgery.

Benefits of HydraFacials

Some advantages of HydraFacials are:

  • Quick Procedure
  • Safe and Effective
  • Painless
  • Extremely Customizable
  • Extended Booster Types
  • For Face and Body

 The treatment improves:

  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Skin Elasticity
  • Pore Size
  • Skin Radiance

HydraFacials provide a powerful combination of treatments that result in long-lasting skin thickening and moisturising qualities. This system can be used on the face, neck, and body. The gentle suction can also be used for lymphatic draining and to clear congested skin on the back and buttocks. Because of the treatment’s kind nature, it can be easily repeated for extremely long-lasting skin health all without the need for downtime.

Ideal Candidates

HydraFacials prompt skin radiance in all skin types and tones. We recommend them for those with sensitive or ageing skin, excess oil production, and darker complexions. Whether you are acne-prone, have hormonal breakouts, or just want radiant and shining skin, this treatment is beneficial for all skin types.

There is no optimal age to receive a HydraFacial as they benefit the skin in any condition. Those with sensitive, combination, or ageing skin can all greatly improve their complexions with the addition of specialised boosters during treatment. To optimise your results, you should be in relatively good health before treatments.

Initial Consultation at Harley Surgery

Your provider will meet with you to discuss HydraFacials and how you may benefit from them. During this private consultation, they will provide extensive information about the procedure process and potential boosters. They will inquire about your skin’s condition and health history to gather more information about your circumstances. We will customise a procedure plan that works for you and your cosmetic needs, creating the most effective individualised treatment plan.

This appointment will also give you an opportunity to ask questions about HydraFacials and all of your skin concerns. Please arrive prepared to talk about known allergies and skin sensitivities so we can provide the best care possible. After your provider gets to know you and understand your aesthetic desires, they will assist you with scheduling your HydraFacial and necessary follow-up appointments at Harley Surgery.

HydraFacial Steps

This treatment uses a Vortex technology system to rejuvenate the skin, demonstrated by the 3 main procedure steps:

  • Vortex Cleansing + Hydropeel Exfoliation: This begins with HydraFacial’s unique spiralled tip which agitates dirt and debris from pores and cleanses the skin without causing irritation. This step includes the use of salicylic and glycolic acids to loosen the substances causing congestion before extraction.
  • Vortex Extraction: Next, your provider uses a different tip to gently clean out debris from inside the pores. Vortex extraction uses vacuum suction to remove blackheads and impurities from the skin.
  • Vortex Fusion: The third and final step uses a tip that infuses moisture into the skin. By applying a potent mixture of antioxidants, plant peptides, and hyaluronic acid to the skin’s surface, there is a heightened chance that it will be absorbed and stored for long-lasting benefits.

HydraFacials implement powerful serums, or boosters, in every procedure plan. Your provider selects a serum that provides the most benefits for you and your skin and adds it to the treatment plan. After extraction, boosters aid the skin in absorbing the moisture and vitamins for glowing skin. The entire treatment typically takes just 30 minutes to complete.

Instant Results Without the Need for Downtime

HydraFacials typically result in immediate skin renewal and rejuvenation after just one visit. Your skin will be noticeably more radiant and moisturised. Fine lines and wrinkles diminish, unwanted pigmentation dissipates, and your face glows from within. Since there is no downtime associated with this treatment, you can enjoy your revitalised complexion right away.

We recommend return visits to improve and maintain results. This non-invasive treatment is often repeated once or twice a month to further moisturise the skin and clear clogged pores.
