Breast Implant Refresh and Removal
Conveniently located to serve the areas of London and Manchester
Breast Enlargement remains one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the UK.
One needn’t look further than Dr Frati’s Instagram to see some of the procedure’s most satisfied recipients. But, for a number of reasons, a relatively small but significant number of people choose to have their implants removed. Some are looking to “refresh” their look. Breast implants must be replaced at regular intervals. This allows the implant recipient to reconsider their look and investigate the latest developments in implant technology. Others have simply grown and matured since getting their implants, so they may consider removing them as part of a larger shift in their personal journey. A small percentage of women have reported unwanted side effects related to the procedure, or dissatisfaction with the work of another doctor. Whatever your motives, Dr Frati is ready to listen and here to help.
Dr Riccardo Frati studied cosmetic surgery in Rome with Professor Gasparotti, a pioneer in modern liposuction techniques. In the UK, he’s held posts in a variety of renowned plastic surgery clinics and prestigious private hospitals. If you are considering breast implant removal in the London or Manchester areas, enquire at Harley Surgery to learn more about how Dr Frati can help you.

Breast Enlargement Refresh and Revision
Did your Breast Augmentation procedure take place between 10 and 15 years ago? If so, it is time to have your implants refreshed. Breast implants are not intended to last forever. As time goes by, they may lose their responsive feel and natural-looking shape. The unlikely event of an implant rupture also increases as the prosthetics age.
These regular refresh sessions provide you with an opportunity for an upgrade. Like any technology, breast implants are constantly improving. Today, breast implants are far safer and more aesthetically pleasing than they were a decade ago. The implants Dr Frati uses are filled with a cohesive silicone gel, which is considered the best on the market for creating the desired look and feel of real breasts.
Dr Frati’s elite Roman training means you have access to the most advanced surgical techniques.
With his eye for beauty, the doctor’s craft consistently delivers aesthetic satisfaction to his celebrity clientele. Dr Frati is regularly featured on ITV’s This Morning, The Times, Daily Mail, and other exclusive UK media outlets. He works in the short-scar surgical technique, intended to achieve safe placement and produce minimal scarring.[1]
Twilight Sedation
Your post-op grogginess is minimized so you can pivot your attention more quickly towards recovery.
Some patients may qualify for twilight sedation. This technique employs pain-free, local anaesthesia. Remarkably, the patient is completely awake and aware during the procedure. This is helpful to the doctor while he works, allowing you to move and adjust positions for a safe and speedy surgery. There are also fewer of the side effects that tend to be associated with general anaesthesia.
Mentor Implants
Are you ready for the platinum standard in breast implants? You deserve it. Harley Surgery deals exclusively in the finest materials available. Hence, we bring you Mentor Implants. Mentor’s MHRA and FDA-approved silicone gel has high safety and satisfaction rates. They come in different varieties to suit your personal preference. The round implants give the biggest boost. Your enhanced cleavage and eye-popping volume are sure to be the centre of attention. The anatomically-shaped variety of breast implant is subtle and sophisticated. These implants primarily enhance the lower breast.
Importantly, every Mentor implant is covered by a lifetime product replacement policy. That’s the kind of peace of mind you can carry all the way to your next refresh!
Implant Removal to Treat Complications
After living an augmented life, some people chose to opt-out of their implants altogether. Dr Frati wants to help you on your aesthetic journey, wherever it may take you. Just as every aesthetic procedure is bespoke to the individual, every person’s experience with an enhancement prosthetic is unique.
Possible side effects of breast implants:
- Complications breastfeeding
- Pain and sensitivity in the breast area
- Implant rupture
- Breast Implant Illness (BII)
- Capsular contracture
- Breast Implant Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma
Some women report discomfort while exercising because of the size, shape or placement of their implants. People with an active lifestyle are encouraged to discuss all the relevant information with Dr Frati during their private and personal consultation.
Other women describe tightness and pain while at rest. Another doctor may have given her implants that are too big, putting pressure on her ribcage and restricting breathing. These difficulties may be especially acute while lying in a supine position (on the back). Another doctor may have overlooked the dense arrangement of nerve endings in the breasts. The poorly placed implant may cause unforeseen irritation.
Harley Surgery is dedicated to easing discomfort and spreading beauty in the world. Dr Frati is ready and able to adjust, refresh or remove your problem implants in fulfilment of this mission.
Implant Removal Enhancement Options
If you wish, any of Harley Surgery’s elite suite of aesthetic enhancement procedures may be incorporated into your implant removal. The stress on the skin as we age, pregnancy, dramatic weight loss, as well as strain caused by the implants themselves may urge one to consider the options described below.
Breast Lift
Give the girls a little lift. Life after your boob job doesn’t have to be saggy.
Dr Frati’s Breast Lift procedure will uplift unhappy-looking bosoms and restore the perky appearance of youth. Your sophisticated new look will flatter from all angles. Harley Surgery will improve your profile by removing excess skin and tissue from the chest. Your nipples will be reoriented in an optimistic, upward trajectory so you can look to tomorrow with confidence. The new you awaits![2]
Breast Reduction
In the interests of both aesthetics and efficiency, you may consider a reduction to better sculpt your from.
Your aesthetic goals may require a Breast Reduction to balance and shape your new chest. Dr Frati is a great appreciator of symmetry and balance. He brings this artistic sense to his work. Breast reduction shares many incisions in common with the lift.
Treating Capsular Contracture
Your body will naturally create a capsule around the implant prosthetics following your enhancement procedure. This is both healthy and helpful to the process, as it protects sensitive breast structures by creating a pocket of scar tissue to hold the implants in place. Patients must follow post-surgical aftercare instructions with fidelity, however, because the supplements and chest massages are all intended to prevent capsular contracture.
Capsular contracture occurs when the capsule tissue becomes overdeveloped. This will cause an undesirable distortion in the bosoms—they appear unnaturally spherical which may contribute to breast asymmetry. Since beauty and balance are always our aim, capsular contracture is an assuredly correctable, but unintended outcome of augmentation.[3]
To correct this issue, Dr Frati recommends an implant refresh or removal to restore harmony to the breasts.
The Baker Scale Grades Capsular Contracture:
- Grade I — the breasts are soft and natural-looking
- Grade II — the breasts are a bit firm, but natural
- Grade III — the breasts are firm but appear abnormal
- Grade IV — the breasts are hard, painful to the touch, and appear abnormal
What to Expect During Breast Implant Removal
Dr Frati’s approach to your implant removal is defined by your goals. Some choose removal for aesthetic reasons, while others are guided by health goals. The power to choose is yours, while it is Dr Frati’s privilege to inform. Here’s what you need to know about breast implant removal.
Explant Surgery
“Explant surgery” defines the procedure in its simplest terms. In medical parlance, an explant means the surgical removal of the implant prosthetics. Additional repairs and extractions are not commonly included in the meaning.
En Bloc Capsulectomy
Some women will opt for the en bloc capsulectomy. They may be guided by an agenda to improve their health. Indeed, one of the benefits of the en bloc capsulectomy is that it prevents contact or contamination by the old breast implants. During the procedure, Dr Frati will remove the breast implant and the surrounding scar tissue—the capsule—en bloc, or all at once.
The aim of an en bloc capsulectomy is to leave no trace of the former implants behind.
Breast Implant Illness and Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma
Breast Implant Illness (BII) is rare and challenging to define. Anecdotal evidence describes a diffuse array of symptoms across multiple organ systems. The illness’ sheer variety of symptoms tends to resist simple cause-and-effect explanations. This makes it difficult to bring BII into accord with the often linear logic of medical science. Even so, Harley Surgery is obliged to inform our patients and fully empower their decision-making.
If you believe you may be suffering from BII, Dr Frati is ready to listen. Perhaps an explant surgery or an en bloc capsulectomy will provide the relief you seek. If so, Harley Surgery can help.
Breast Implant Illness (BII) Symptoms
- Anxiety
- Chronic fatigue
- General body pain
- Skin rash
- Breast pain
- Trouble concentrating
- Problems with digestion
- Depression
- Hair loss
Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is a further risk to consider. This highly treatable lymphoma is most closely linked to the textured implants that were in common use until recently. Its symptoms include pain, breast asymmetry, lump(s) in the breast area or an overlying skin rash. There have not yet been any cases of BIA-ALCL linked to smooth implants.[4]
If you fear the potential complications related to Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, calmly contact Dr Frati and the team at Harley Surgery. We have the knowledge and experience to present you with the best options available in accordance with your health history and aesthetic goals.
